This striking mid-century ceramic vase was produced by the renowned Accolay pottery workshop in Burgundy, France, during the 1950s–1960s. Featuring a rare and highly decorative crackle glaze with dense geometric tessellation, the vase is distinguished by its sculptural double handles and generous rounded form.
The underside is signed “Accolay,” initialed “B.A.” (attributed to André Boutaud, co-founder of the Accolay workshop), and numbered 26. This combination elevates the piece above the more common unsigned atelier examples and firmly situates it within the most collectible Accolay production.

About Accolay The Accolay pottery workshop was founded in Burgundy, France, in 1945 by André Boutaud, Louis Dangon, Slavik Paley, and Raudé, following their training under ceramist Alexandre Kostanda. Known for bold experimentation, richly textured glazes, and modernist silhouettes, Accolay pieces were widely appreciated for their strong decorative presence and their role in the renewal of French studio pottery after World War II.
