This refined French chair is crafted in walnut wood and reflects the elegant lines of the Louis XVI period, interpreted through the restrained and architectural Directoire style. The frame features gently tapered legs, a curved seat rail, and a shaped backrest with clean classical proportions.
The chair is upholstered in a highly refined Directoire-style silk tapestry, featuring neoclassical motifs in soft green and gold tones. The upholstery is neatly finished with decorative nailhead trim and offers a comfortable, high-quality seat. The overall impression is one of understated sophistication, typical of late 18th-century design revived during the 19th century.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. Very minor wear visible on the front edge of the seating area, consistent with age and careful use.
