An elegant late 19th century French guéridon side table featuring a richly veined marble top set within a carved wooden frame, crafted in walnut (or walnut-stained hardwood) with a beautifully developed patina. The circular apron is delicately adorned with incised floral and foliate motifs, while the openwork frieze adds depth and refinement.
Raised on a turned central column terminating in three gracefully curved legs, the table displays balanced proportions and timeless character. The warm-toned wood pairs beautifully with the dramatic marble surface, making this piece suitable as a side table, occasional table, or decorative accent in both classic and contemporary interiors.
Later structural reinforcements have been added to ensure long-term stability, a common and practical intervention for tables of this age. These adjustments do not detract from the integrity or period character of the piece.
Condition
Very good vintage condition, with minor surface wear consistent with age and careful use. The wood shows small, old and inactive wormholes that are stable and purely cosmetic, consistent with the age of the table.
