About Daum Nancy
Founded in 1878 in Nancy, Lorraine, the Daum glassworks became one of the leading artistic forces of the École de Nancy and the French Art Nouveau movement. Under the direction of Auguste and Antonin Daum, the factory developed sophisticated techniques of multilayered glass, acid-etching, and cameo carving inspired by the flora and forests of the surrounding Vosges region.
At the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris, Daum was awarded the Grand Prix, confirming its international reputation alongside contemporaries such as Émile Gallé. Works from this period represent the height of naturalistic French Art Nouveau glass.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. A small and discreet production nuance near the lower body (approximately 1 cm) is visible upon close inspection; it does not affect structural integrity and remains unobtrusive within the overall composition.
